Releasing 1.7.0: allow changing start-value

Hi everyone,

I'm happy to announce version 1.7.0 today. I had a few recent requests and questions about how much is a portfolio is worth on first day of simulation. The answer has always been $100,000. Starting with 1.7.0 users can change that value at the options dialog.

Cheers!

  1. I would like for the program to be able to upload my own trading system's data from a spreadsheet and compare it to stocks / etfs/ mutual funds ?

  2. Hi: I'm trying out 1.7 but no matter how I manipulate the starting date (lower left corner) I cannot get the backtest to go more than 29 months back.

    1. It sounds like one of the stocks in your portfolio doesn't have history beyond that point. You may change the options to treat the missing historical data as cash investment until history starts. Uncheck the "trim timeline to available data" in the options dialog.
