  1. Thanks for a new version!

A couple of small suggestions, if I may:

    * Is it possible to store the index benchmark as part of the portfolio? At the moment, you have to switch it every time when you look at different markets.
    * Can the stocks in the portfolio be re-arranged easily? At the moment, it seems that you have to edit the stock ticker for each position affected.
    * Related to the above, if you use the TAB key to move around input boxes, a new row is automatically added if you are at the last stock of the portfolio. There is no way to delete that empty row and applying equal portfolio weights doesn't work (as that row gets treated as cash instead).

    Thanks!

    1. The last row/cash isn't considered for the "equal weights" function. The function does use round numbers, and therefore can produce a "remainder" for cash (especially with higher amount of equities)

Thanks for the comments, I'll consider for future release

  2. Seems to be an issue with data for VFSTX. Although data is available back to 1990, the program indicates no data is available before 2007. Is all data cut off at that point?

    Thanks!

    1. It could be that another equity in your portfolio is blocking you from presenting a simulated result from before 2007. I created a 100% portfolio with VFSTX and got results from 1990. You can click on "Tools->Show Status Log" to view which equity it was forced adjusting start date. You can choose in the application option to not "Trim timeline to available data" - and treat missing equity data as cash.

    2. Thanks for the reply. I tried again with a new portfolio, 100% VFSTX and here's what I found in the log:

VFSTX data only starts at 5/6/2002 12:00:00 AM, missing data will be simulated as cash
^GSPC data only starts at 5/6/2002 12:00:00 AM, missing data will be simulated as cash

      I am using Version 1.6.2.

      Thanks for any help!

  3. Hi,
I have just downloaded ezbacktest 1.6.2 (on Windows 8), and nothing is working... Backtest portfolio shows the message "Failed: Attempted to divide by zero" for any portfolio I try to backtest, including the samples provided by ezbacktest (income, growth, etc....). Neither correlation nor any other tool.
Could you help me on this? Thanks!

  4. Hi,
Have the same problem as Irontrader on Windows 8: divide by zero...

    Did you find a solution?

    1. Hi Benoit, I have not received an email or further details from Inrontrader, perhaps you will be willing to email me some information so I can try and figure out why you are having a problem?

    2. Hi Benoit and S.Segev,

I have re-installed ezbacktest and it is working better. Sometimes, out of trading hours, I still have some issues and the same message (divide by zero...). Maybe an issue to connect to yahoo.com?

    3. I have found an issue with non US-English windows installs, and believe I've fixed it with latest version 1.6.3

Please do email me for further support so I can collect all relevant details to figure what is or isn't working.
