A starting point: a single ETF family such as Vanguard

Looking to play with different allocations? With the plethora of available investment options out there, one gets exhausted quite quickly. I suggest starting from one family of ETF-s and moving on to compare alternatives once a core allocation type is decided upon.

Consider: Vanguard, iShares, PowerShares etc...

Of course, if your broker offers free trade with certain ETF-s, I'd focus my efforts there... (Fidelity offers 20 etf-s for free, TD-Ameritrade about 80 I believe)
